Don't be surprised, central banks claim to be independent from politics but they're really not. There's a lot of pressure on them to reduce them regardless of the numbers coming out. They're also meant to make rate decisions today with the assumption the impact won't be felt for 6-12 months, so even if the job numbers are good today if they anticipate a deterioration towards the end of this year or early next they'll cut rates now
