Caught early breast cancer is often curable by surgery alone. Looks like Elle was one of the lucky ones, but the decision to be treated with chemo is not an easy one given the long term consequences of current treatment. We really need to improve chemo so that patients don’t have to make this terrible choice - do I increase my risk of dying of cancer by avoiding chemo or do I suffer lifelong damage from the chemo. Hopefully we can make this choice easier.
