I came across this quote from Howard Marks which precisely answers this point- “Knowing the probabilities doesn’t eliminate the uncertainty”. Yes, while we know what the historical clinical trials have shown and scientific papers have proved, the uncertainty that cardioprotection will work in humans is yet to be proven with specific trial design, sample size etc.,.
If anyone is interested I will leave this short video for your watching pleasure as I consider Howard one of the foremost thinkers on risk and his book “The most important thing” is a classic for investors.
