The accumulating evidence so far suggests BD1's SubB2M technology is far more sensitive than the Grail test (1,2; below) and any other test currently available or in development (tables below). Sensitivity refers to the ability of the test to correctly identify when a patient has the disease, where specificity refers to the ability of a test to correctly identify people without the disease. The issue with the Grail test is similar to other screening technologies where they struggle to identify early stage cancers. BD1 unequivocally have market leading sensitivity and specificity for the detection of breast and ovarian cancer.

From everything I have read, I think the best ASX oncology investment hedge that can be done is a combination of RAC and BD1. My understanding is RAC IP helps treat advanced cancers with no current commercial or clinical competitors, whereas BD1 IP helps identify early stage cancers before they get to an advanced stage and where current screening technology lacks clinical sensitivity and specificity. I think both will perform well in the short term and have genuine opportunity for a commercial transaction.
