So if you've got a car with 3000 chips (high level), and all the intelligence has been bundled into ~20 MCUs (lowish level) thats ~99%.

Of course not everything is that simple & perfect, but the fact is auto makers are moving away from distributed architecture to centralised zonal architecture, removing the points in a car that require flash memory.

For those who don't realise, large majority (i donno maybe 80%) of chips in a car are not digital, but power/analogue like MOSFETS from OnSemi, which don't contain code/memory.

Looks at a computer motherboard, may have over 60 chips, but maybe only 1 or 2 have NVM
