I’ve played the super game for forty years. Followed the rules, salary sacrificed, added the occasional non-concessional contribution and been active with moving my money into different investment options
as I have deemed appropriate. Lived within my means. Now it’s time to collect my reward. I have just retired with 2.3m. Lucky me ...... well not really .......just discipline, patience and a teacher’s salary to get me there ..... and yes I have raised a family.
Did the govt help me get there? Sure but they set the rules and I just followed them. What else was I to do? Am I suppose to feel guilty about the inequity of the current system? No because this is the result of super policies of both Labor and LNP governments of past and present. They can change the super system now but leave me out of the changes and let me enjoy the fruits of my 40 years of work.
