my 2c worth...
the way telstra mob have decided to go with their proposal and not tender has been a huge calculated mistake...
even though I am share holder i think they are not doing the right thing for the nation, for the shareholders.for the past many years their sp has not done anything...about 10yrs ago i was paying $2/min to calls to my home country - why, 'cause there was no competition. now i pay 6cents/min not thru viop but a normal phone line.
i think tls should have been split long ago - with the nation keeping the cables etc (infra) and the retail kept as a separate entity. It is not too late as Mr Conroy has got the perfect time and reason to do it now
