    There is a difference between Ex Rights and Record date. The Ex date is a day or so before the record date, which is when the company closes the books. The delay is to let trades on the Ex date to filter through to the registry. (How modern is that! - anyone heard of computers talking over phone lines?)

    This distinction fooled me too. Usually the list of dates includes an Ex date and a Record date. Being loaded with IFN shares, I had to sell a few to get funds for the entitlement. (And made a nice 10% profit on the 'trade'.)

    The fact that the SP has remained stable after the halt was lifted indicates that there are many who think that this Rights issue is good for the company. Usually prices fall immediately, but not with this one.
