I don't know that the Sun-cable Venture has failed.

This is a recent article quoting him on the venture...
    https://reneweconomy.com.au/some-crazy-folks-behind-mike-cannon-brookes-20b-sun-cable-project-22944/

And this is a quote form the AFR article posted 1/Jan 2020
"If we are going to change the grid to something that’s renewable we have to think big," says Adelaide tech entrepreneur Simon Hackett, who has joined software billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes and iron ore magnate Andrew Forrest as an early backer of the $22 billion Sun Cable project that would export solar power from the central Australian outback by undersea cable to Singapore.

Where did you read "the solar venture he had has failed"?

Is Andrew Forrest also a devoted green warrior?

My view is that the Sun-cable consortium are undertaking an ambitious project which has a huge export potential for Australia. Good on them. That is the kind of entrepreneurial activity we need and the US has in spades.
Pity the Govt hasn't got the same foresight and courage. Maybe we would have more plant on the books for IFN if there was a cohesive energy policy....
