I put the following question to the AI tool named Copilot (Microsoft Edge browser):"What is the minimum concentration, as a percentage, of uranium required to mine?"
Copilot answered with:
"The minimum concentration of uranium required for mining to be economically viable depends on several factors, including the cost of mining, refining, and transportation, as well as the current market price of uranium. According to the World Nuclear Association, the minimum concentration of uranium required for mining to be economically viable is typically between 0.05% and 0.1%."
Excluding the lithia prospects, the uranium prospects are:
- Portland Creek has an avg of ~0.22% uranium and 108 sq kms of search area with no modern exploration has been undertaken ;
- Tinco grab samples have been much lower but it has 76 sq kms and has also sampled 0.5% niobium and never been drill-tested;
- Des Herbiers has samples of ~0.213% uranium with 17 high priority targets that remain untested;
- Yeelerie North has turned up ~0.15% and a 220 km2 search area;
