Wanted to start a thread to get any thoughts from people on how exposed CSL is to inflation, given that's a hot topic.
The obvious pain point would be donor fees. I believe this is the largest single COGS item and broader inflation would push the payments up.
At the moment in the US enlarged benefits and instances of large sign up bonuses for jobs is occuring. The enlarged benefits will roll off in Sep which will help donations. However, it remains to be seen how sticky wages growth will be, and most is one sign up bonuses at this stage, though it is a risk longer term.
On the other side of the coin is CSL's pricing power. Donation fees will have to increase instantly to respond to competitors and higher wages, but how long would it take to reprice the medications? And would there be a lot of political pressure to slow that process?
Could CSL be squeezed for a long while as it adjusted drug prices with insurers and Governments etc?
