I live here in Saigon and one of the biggest problems is that its a cash society and has a roaring black market culture.Prices here for almost anything can jump between 20-100% overnight, people just keep raising the prices to suit themselves, little do they know what they are creating. Even large companies are selling products at the black market rate, which is about 18600 vnd to the greenback where as the government rate is 16200 vnd, this creates all types of overcharging for products.I even rang the ANZ bank here and asked to buy some USD and they flatly refused me. Vietnams price increases has gone to dizzying heights, property in some areas has gone up 400% in four years and rice has increased by 100% in a year.Cant see anything good on the horizon except a slowdown, a bust in the real estate may make people start to realise what is happening
