Not sure of the state of the UK - all I know as a stay home father since August last year - is that everything is considerably more expensive on a day to day needs front.

I would say up to 20% on some things.

I am excluding fuel, as I am walking distance to most things. Granted I am no economist but that is my experience and believe that we are in an inflationary period, as simplistic as my example is.
