WBT is filamentry. 4DS is interface switching. WBT appears to be going primarily for IOT and device markets. 4DS is going for data center markers.
One of the down falls with filament switches is that you have a mechanical element. A moving part... albeit frikkin tiny. It moves. If you are familiar with general mechanical principles you will understand that anything that moves will eventually break. WBT has a tiny filament made of atoms, that moves. You cannot scale this technology down beyond a certain point because you start incurring physical limits. Also after enough movement the filament will degrade and eventually stop working. This is why WBT will never have the endurance that 4DS will.
