Megabit chip itself is not really a marketable product of note .You could sell Mb products... cache type applications that only require smaller amounts of memory.
What you want for large industry penetration is Gigabit scale. Data center applications.

To get from megabit to gigabit is probably a couple years further development.
This may be what saucie boi wanted... because selling at Gb levels would be $billions more than Mb sale.

In any case, 4DS could go the ARM route - fabless producer, just use TSMC.
We certainly cannot build our own fab - they cost $5 to $10 billion US. And years to construct.

But being acquired is easier because we still get a juicy shareprice on buyout and the acquirer develops to Gb scale aaaand the acquirer already has a full marketing team, full executive sales team with all the industry contacts the power to push the industry scale sales machine.

4DS does not have an industry scale sales team needed to commit to mammoth at scale production. (Neither does Weebit - which is why I think they also are planning to be acquired - their BOD just have not expressly stated it yet.)

Naah Mate..Gigabite and Petabite is not the inventors issue. There are the ready manufacturing giants like kioxia waiting to be involved and making billions out of it(its hard to think that as a JD of WDC some little "things" did not leaked?)
