re: heron discussion continuation from last year Hi all,

Any thoughts on the implications of a discovery on the Heron structure ?? It's best to go over the thread for a refresher on the discussion that took place last year. BKP announced an agreed location for the first drill on Heron today. Given that the piece of block 2 which hosted a big chunk of the Heron structure was relinquished by the WPL/HDR JV last year AFTER knowing a free hit at the structure was immanent, one can't help but feel some dodgy deal could have been done somewhere along the line. Will certainly watch with interest as to who this new block will be awarded to remembering the JV had the choice as to which 25% of block 2 was relinquished.

Personally hoping that the offshore part of the Heron structure still sits in block 2 but looking at various maps, it appears to be just outside of block 2 post relinquishment.
