I must say I thought it may take a couple of weeks to hit the 3's again! It's going to be hard for you being so emotionally involved to not post on fml until 21st Oct but it may do you some good by giving you more time to look into this deal?
As for Sharpshooter... A bet is a bit and as you didn't make the bet your advice in relation to the matter isn't needed.
