Hey NJ,

The SP doesnt suggest they are benefiting. I'm losing count of the number of CEO's that have directly lied to investor's/analysts in the last 6 months.
CCP - I was assured there would not be another downgrade by the CEO (whom with I had a great relationship with) after the first one last Decemeber and it came within a month.

At the end of the day, if it means these CEO's will be able to keep their jobs for longer and give them a bit longer to hopefully get bailed out by improved macro conditions, then of course they are going to lie. They get paid too much not to.

Confirmation bias -
is a tendency to search for or interpret new information in a way that confirms one's preconceptions and avoids information and interpretations which contradict prior beliefs.
