Personally I think the Hanlong deal must have simply been superior. What is was by the other party is irrelevant 2 years down the track. If the information was out to the public I feel it may actually be used against any other bids at the time especially when the no shop clause was lifted from the Hanlong deal.

Imagine you've been trying to sell your house in the boom and you accepted something you were happy with. Settlement approaches and fails yet the real estate agent then pipes up with "Oh, we have had plenty of other offers from interested parties". I would reply with "why didn't you show me?". The chances are they would reply with "They were never put in writing or willing to sign the paperwork".

Unfortunately it all amounts to nothing without the signatures.
