There are currently approx 11000 tenement applications in a backlog waiting to be proccessed by the DOIR. This has been bought about by native title and other problems. Many are stacked one on top of the other as at Shovelana.
This is why the DOIR now has a "first in line " and a "use it or lose it" policy so they can speed up the proccess to reduce the backlog and to stop tenement holders from sitting on ground for years and making little or no attempt to explore it.
There will be many who are watching the outcome of this tenement appliction with a lot more interest than making or losing a few bucks on CAZ
