If Gangfeng are saying one thing to the Chinese but a different thing to Australian media, then it is probably that they see us as a threat to their business, whereas we could so easily work together and be the biggest threat to the big 3.
Jow Lowry has consistently stated how far the building of new brine capacity is way behind the rhetoric of how much was going to be built. I don't think now is any different to the past, especially with the lower potassium prices, and the fact that refining the brines to usable LCE for quality batteries is not cheap, means brine production will be well behind ''expected", and prices will remain high. Obviously the more players, then the existing players can keep the prices VERY high, while new entrants are a threat to super profits, and bring them back to 'good' profits instead.
Personally I think the lot of them are underestimating the demand when all these gigafactories are up and running. There will be lots of hard rock miners making 'super'' profits for a long time IMO.
