Really does make practical and budget sense to look at replacing coal fired boilers existing with modular nuclear units.
Yes, it would take a lot of down time per station but now is the time to start planning conversion / refurb / replace of one station at a time.
HV switch gear, transformers and transmission infrastructure are all expensive and not "off the shelf" items but all exist right there outside the station.
While the boiler is replaced along with control, the turbines, generators and control systems could be refurbished. even this could be done on a one after the other process as modular nuclear boilers are bought online.
Just trying to clear some fog I see reading different threads on HC with some operational fact not pushing any agenda.
