Unfortunately this lunacy is being driven by democracy in turn supported by the votes of a Greta only informed electorate - the preferences of Green minorities are being bought by the Left in return for the pursuit of this woke ideoligy.
Sure, one day the coal, gas and oil will run out and we'll need to be ready with alternatives. Nuclear and more hydro for mine.
But why transition to solar and wind at all let alone now when it's a no brainer that these forms of energy actually use more energy to be made than they actually produce - even when running 24/7 (which they don't)? Not to mention the sea, land and farm environment destruction that we're now witnessing to accomodate these feel good sources of energy and the new transmission lines that go with them.
And why the immediate need for any change at all when the link between cabon emissions and gobal warming no wait less rain & empty dams no wait climate change no wait something else when Tim Flannery thinks of what it might be et al is yet to even being close to be proven?
Yes, we can transition but only when we're ready and there's no need to fix coal, gas and oil when it's not broken and the only step we should take should give solar and wind a complete miss. This is the way to preserve our economic and social well being and to improve the lot of many other nations.
