In my previous post I did not dwell on the Forrestfield-Airport Link project, because BYL is not included in the three short-listed consortia. The Forrestfield-Airport Link project is past the planning and engineering development phase, and procurement has passed the short-listing phase, and should be finalised by mid-2016. Construction is expected to start in late 2016, and be completed by 2020.
The winning consortium is likely to subcontract work, so I'll write more on that project today, because BYL's experience in bulk and detailed earthworks, rail formation, road and carpark construction, plus its familiarity with the requirements of working in the Perth Airport environment, eminently qualifies BYL as as a potential subcontractor. The project includes constructing three new stations and three thousand parking bays. BYL has successfully won and completed work including carpark construction for Perth Airport Pty Ltd, so if the winning consortium subcontracts parking-bay work, BYL would have to be a good contender.

“Our ability to win our 19th project at Perth Airport demonstrates the quality of work Brierty has delivered for clients in critical operating environments,” Mr McBain said. “Our record of securing repeat work is very important, as it illustrates Brierty’s track record in safely delivering quality contracts on time and budget, providing certainty for our clients.
“We have a proven ability to deliver on civil works in the complex airport environment and we are continuing to pursue a number of additional projects in this sector.”
Previous works completed by Brierty at Perth Airport include major road intersections, internal link roads, expansion works and car parks.
