It's nothing Oz changing Hingdog, that's the point I made in my original post. A new road ..... big deal. Whack on a couple of hundred new trains instead, anyone can do that.
What about farming up north? Building a world class steel production plant? We send raw materials over to Italy, then pay a massive premium to import tiles, same with steel.
The east west link will be redundant in 20 years anyway ........... Doh!
Our government's are unimaginative and unwilling to take risks. Job growth is what we need, not some bush track that will be redundant a few years after it's built.
