Just wondering about people's views on inheritance . In the old days people died a bit younger and times were tougher so it made a lot of sense to help kick start a decendant's life .
These days people are living much longer so quite often the kids are at least middle aged ( or older ) when their folks pass . So do the kids really need the money like they did in the past ?
Also , older people are living it up a bit in their retirement and are retired much longer . So , should they live quitely and leave money to their kids or should they spend it instead ?
Should we spend it ?
Should we give it to charity if we have no immeadiate descendants ( no kids ) ?
