Be aware that it is wise to consider that aged care is becoming expensive, especially if you have no family member who is likely to be in a position to take you on, in your dotage. So spend within your means with consideration for your last years of life and beware that you might just find yourself still alive at a hundred. If you have a family member or friend who takes care of your needs in later life, then it would be nice if you could leave them something in return over and above the rest of the family.

So getting away from the unpleasantness of lawyers and thieving relatives , do people still generally think that they should leave something behind ( people with adult kids ) or think they should spend it themselves and if anything's left it gets divided up or given to a favorite charity ?
