Now that there is the NASDAQ listing and also securities such as Greenland and Ireland project, BMW probably had bank securities given before they paid the 15 million.
As Mr Wanke said, European Lithium/Critical Metals will have to pay a penalty to BMW if they don't deliver.

A mine needs years of lead time. The company has invested 30 million euros so far, and a total of around 300 million is required.
