Big difference between being commercial or not. Seismic will give you an image of the geology but does not guarantee anything.
How many well do you reckon santos have drilled over the years in the cooper basin? Lots I would say. Quite a number of those would be dusters or plugged and abandoned as they are not commercial.. not to say that they don’t get good results either though.
Point is, seismic is but one part of the overall process and doesn’t guarantee $$$ in the bank.
