Inner city living is not for everyone. I live in inner city close to Perth and love it. Saying that I have lived in South Fremantle and hated it. Do not think for a minute that alcohol, drugs and domestic violence are the domain of the burbs. Everything is closer in town and little issues can become huge when your neighbor is a metre or two away. I would never live here if I had young kids or if I was elderly. One needs to be street wise and know when to walk away. Guy moved in next door and has lots of gear, left car on street first night. Cleaned out by morning. The good bits are how close you are to everything.
Not just cafes but shops, gyms, pools, train stations and lots of options you never get bored. Demand is always there, they are not making any more and young and old all want peice of action. Many will be come and many will go after finding it is not for them. Each to their own.
