With all due respect @equityma you post shows a lack of understanding of the actual processes. Not having a dig.. as unless you've worked with these, it probably does come across as you say
Also there are reasons the places that use HPAL, use HPAL and not heap leach.. and not for lack of trying.
Also.. HPAL is for oxides, but more specifically laterite deposits.
Maybe this is my ignorance, but I didn't think HPAL was developed for WSA.
Murrin Murrin opened in 1999, so there would have years of development ahead of this.
Direct Nickel is another completely different process once again that relies on nitric acid and an internal recycle. Personally I wouldn't touch it with 10 (or even 100) foot pole... or at least I'd need a very compelling reason to ever consider it
I have a lot of faith in WSA as a low cost concentrate producer, and even in the way in which they intend to use their bioleach. But you can't compare a laterite operation to what WSA has.. its completely different.
Also in terms of Cobalt and vanadium, Australia does produce cobalt (form Murrin Murrin) and the technology is around to produce vanadium easily enough, just no current operations doing it (after Windimurra going into hiatus)
I appreciate people being passionate about a company... but things are rarely that simple
