    This unit uses butane as the secondary fluid, still the same sort of thing.

    Notice that the brine and butane flow in opposite directions in the heat exchanger, this is to harvest as much heat as possible from the brine. If it were the other way round then the brine could not be cooled as far. (i imagine the 2 fluids would reach equilibrium at some point)

    This unit has a cooling tower which is more efficient than air cooled condensers, but needs a lot of water.

    When the steam collapses into water a near vacuum is developed. In a lot of steam plants a condenser pressure of about 4kPa(absolute) is typical.
