I like your reference to the margin debt at all time high. The image below looks at the margin debt over a longer period. A high margin rate almost always seems to correlate with a market drop and recession. You would have to assume the retail market takes on alot of these margin loans as banks/funds are able to borrow at wholesale rates off the books??? Speculation is certainly back into the markets. Might go on for a few more months/years we will see.
