Hi Maaze and all , I understand the Disqualification Rule and the resultant loss of Bets has been in place for Centuries in T/B Racing, and it came into place to stop, any cases of like leaving Lead, Weight Bags, behind in the Mounting Yard etc., should the connections of a runner in a T/B. Race do so, after perhaps seeing another Horse in better Racing condition and with a better Winning chance than their Horse.
The application of the Late Scratching Rule to the above ,would simply make an excuse for 'Smarties' in the above situation to receive their Punting Money back.
(I have been caught Three Times with the weighing in light Rule in T/B Racing.
Sendock at Bendigo, Like a Lord at Launceston, and Conifer at Hobart and in each case the Horse won by a considerable margin and would have still won with their missing Lead Bags).
No doubt a lot more will come out of the situation which happened at Wentworth Park Last Night, and I myself think it should have declared a NO RACE because after all the disqualified Dog ,when crossing from the outside Box interfered with the most of other Dogs. ( After all, the situation last Night is similar to a Stray Dog joining the Race).
