When you sell 50% of an asset, you are no longer entitled to 50% of the income (and nor do you have to pay interest on any debt funding if you repay it).
I've gone into some detail explaining the lack of revenue to support dividends and challenged holders to correct. Unfortunately no one has taken me up.
p.s. I've held NEW in the past and follow it with interest.
