Well, in the 60's it was the blacks who were going to cause all that trouble, in the seventies it was the Ugandan Asians, in the eighties the Pakis ...... and guess what? By and large they've all assimilated, just as all the other waves of migration have over the years.
Hopefully the muslims will do the same. The women will realise that there is a life outside the burkha, because they can't be kept from seeing lots of other women walking safely through (most of) the suburbs, going to work, taking the kids to school, coffee mornings on the footpath. I think that will be the drive for change.
