if history repeats itself with Russia - and, I suspect it will -

then the war will blow over - whatever the result - and Russia will go about it's normal business - education, arts, culture, lots of Vodka ----

then, descend into the darkness of the next tragedy ----------- what a place it is - a dark horrible history, and they just don't seem to be able to escape it

there's just something about Russians which has pain and suffering written all over it

such a tragedy because they are a hell of a lot of fun to be with - 'dangerous' but, fun - as long as you survive their very risky playfulness

If you ever get a chance - there's a great Museum of Communism in ? I think it was Kyrgyzstan, where whilst the other 'stans' wanted to forget their 60 or so year experience in the USSR - Kyrgyzstan decided to celebrate the time, recognise the time and leave it behind - but, recognise it, so it was never forgotten etc.

It's well worth a visit and gives a different slant on things.
