Ukrainians will never forgive Russia for the holodomor and the starvation of its own people to feed Russia. Across the old Soviet Union the ridiculous carving up of individual states to serve specific purposes was a way to gain control, deprive each state of any ability to have and independent economy and to provide a type of slave labour. The Russian control was achieved in part by moving ethnic Russians into those states. This is why we are even debating those parts of Ukraine that have many ethnic Russians. It is conquering and control by stealth.
