A research study done by people in the field (Energy Geosciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) and funded by US Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
Lilac tech was mentioned in the paper.
Direct lithium extraction has been employed profitably to produce lithium chloride from brines in Argentina and
China and it is estimated that approximately 12% of the world’s lithium supply in 2019
was produced using direct lithium extraction technology.
The most well-investigated and technologically advanced method for direct lithium
extraction from brines is adsorption by metal oxides and hydroxides
