If the gas zone is full of CO2 - or any other gas for that matter - the report is technically correct. I'm not sure if the lack of clarification is intentionally misleading, but it could easily be misconstrued.
I must admit, I always assumed it was something other than useful gas, because there was no explicit mention of hydrocarbons.
Sometimes the most important part of an announcement is what is *not* said!
