As a hyperthetical, If a major holder who specialises in explorers to mining companies, releases a statement and part of that statement was stating they where forced to sell, that the same company had a nominated director, that the same company sold their shares to a competing holder, would this been seen as an inside trading and against ASIC rules?
Afaik inside trading doesn't necessarily mean directly from the company a source of information, but information that is price censitive that is not in the sphere of common knowledge for other shareholders to make decisions upon, would then the definition of "forced" to sell fall within that sphere, especially when taken in context of the article, where it was implied that there was active attempts to meet with government officials in different countries, that the major holder had sold to a competing holder at a premium prior an announcement by the board in the quarterly that talks with the holding permit government has been stalled based on incountry processing stalemate and that the timeline guidance of the special mining agreement in previous announcements wasn't to be met.
