Thanks for the comment. I am on the wrong half of the world at the moment and while it makes it difficult to contribute to HC, it may be best to be away from the heightened emotions.
I am sorry that you sold out so early. Maybe, as Melua suggests, I was lucky. I was in Barcelona when the Sept 4 announcement came out, and mate sent me a text in the middle of the night telling me to get out of BEPPA. I read the BBI statement and thought that it only confirmed the obvious. The assets were impaired and BEPPA holders shouldn’t expect to get a $1.00 back. Fair enough. It is a GFC after all...
The main reason I held on to BEPPA was the inaction of the banks. If they for a moment had thought that the fair value of BEPPA was 7 cents, they would not have hesitated...
