If we really were in a war most of these talking heads would be imprisoned
on various charges.
Then again our political system allows a completely disjointed chain
of command to garble the message and confuse the population. We
also seem to have a bureaucracy that can't, or won't, take orders.
In the best companies I've worked for only one person was delegated
to speak to our customers (on product/engineering matters anyway). If you
didn't follow the rule you would have been warned if you were lucky
or more likely, sacked the same day.
