In Europe/UK this becomes less of an issue as the system will connect in where the existing hydronic hot water and heating service is located. All the services run to this point.
From my experience in the UK, given that houses in a street are pretty much the same design - there won't be much "customisation" For example in the street I lived in London, every house would have had a cellar under the front door, where the gas and electricity came in. A Bluegen unit could sit there easily. The only hitch will be it may be likely that multiple tradesmen will be required for the installation ie. a plumber for the gas and water connections, and a sparky for the electricity connections.
