I notice in the last few days some of the instos have put in substantial shareholders notices for BEN with holdings of around 7 mill shares being greater tghan 5% of the capital.

Bendigo Bank now the merger with Adelaide bank is completed has ~257 mill shares

    So the maths is simple

    7/257 X 100 = around 2.7% which is NOT greater than 5%

It confims my opinion of the instos in general.

There was a mad scramble to get into BEN at the time they entered the ASX 100 list as a result of their merger.
Anyone with half a brain would have known that trying to buy millions of shares over a short space of time, given their historical trading volumes, would force the price up in the process.

There was some thought around at the time, and I was one such person, that maybe it was someone trying to get a strategic stake to mount a take over
I still dont rule this out down the track, but right now it looks increasingly unlikely.
    ( Hope I'm wrong LOL)

But I'm very happy to hold BEN for what I see as increasing profits and dividends over the next few years

    Cheers

    Bendigo
