Intel Acquiring XPE and Joining the Dots

    Every recent announcement has made it pretty clear to me where this is likely to be heading re: friendly takeover by Intel. So sharing the joining of the dots as to why this is likely to be imminent and how everything been falling into place for this to happen and is the next logical step of XPED’s development. To help show why below are all the Intel relevant ASX announcements released in recent months by XPE. Happy dot joining!

    11 April 16 - ADRC soon to be available on Intel IOT gateway platform

    Highlights
    • Intel customers to have access to all the benefits that ADRC technology provides
    • In conjunction with Intel, Xped is developing a mini PCIexpress card that provides NFC and 802.15.4 communications with ADRC firmware executing on the latest "Intel® Quark™ D2000 Microcontroller"
    • By adding an Xped mini PCIexpress card, ADRC can now be added to IoT gateway routers available from several leading vendors that utilize Intel’s popular “Moon Island © IoT gateway” reference design
    • To support the mini PCIexpress card, Xped is also porting its ADRC gateway services that can be deployed onto various platforms based on the Yocto Project
    14 April 16 - April Investor Presentation-XPE.AX
    So what does this Investor Presentation have to do with Intel - Probably not that much but slide 26 on Recent IoT industry Acquisitions certainly indicates XPE founders openness to being acquired as exit strategy and all the announcements indicate both XPE directors and Intel working hard to make it happen. So Intel what are you going to buy us out for? Oh and the acquisitions they highlight range in price from US$1.4 B to US$4.5B

    19 April 16 - Xped to Acquire Healthcare Technology Company

    21 April 16 - Xped Strengthens Board with Key Appointment
    Announcement of the appointment of Dr.Wenjun Sheng as a NonExecutive Director of the company, who happens to be the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Telink.

    5 May - Telink Agreement
    XPED & TELINK (Intel Capital Company) to jointly develop as series of IC chips that integrate ARDC technology. Included immediate commencement of joint marketing and collaboration.
    17 May - Xped and Telink Commence Development of IOT ADRC Chip
    Highlights:
    • XPED & TELINK collaboration and development of IOT ADRC CHIP COMMENCES
    • Xped to begin porting its ADRC IoT Stack to the TELINK “TLSR8269F512” IOT CHIP
    • Proposed target market to be CONSUMER ELECTRONICS, WEARABLES & HEALTH CARE
    • Creation of IOT ADRC Chip with subGHz RADIO to commence post completion of successful
    25 May 16 - Successful Porting Completed for Intel IoT Gateway Platform
    Highlights:
    • On the 11th April 2016, the Company Xped Limited (ASX: XPE) announced its ADRC technology will soon be compatible and available on the Intel® IoT Gateway platform.
    • Xped is now delighted to announce that it has just completed successful porting of its ADRC gateway services using an Advantech Embedded IoT Gateway running Linux. The next step requires testing the ADRC services against Intel® Moon Island gateway platform on the same Advantech hardware. Moon Island provides state of the art cloud connectivity, security and management services to an IoT gateway.
    • The Company expects to complete this phase very soon and plans are underway to demonstrate its ADRC technology running on the gateway to Intel engineers and OEM’s in the coming weeks in Asia.

    9 June 16 - ADRC Now Running on Intel Moon Island Gateway

    Highlights:
    • Xped Limited (ASX: XPE) (“Xped” or “the Company”) is excited to announce it has completed the final step of testing ADRC services against Intel® Moon Island gateway platform on the Advantech hardware.
    • As announced on the 25th May, the Company had successfully completed its porting of its ADRC gateway services using an Advantech Embedded IoT Gateway running Linux.
    • This last phase fulfils the requirements of Xped in completing the IoT gateway solution to demonstrate ADRC capabilities on Moon Island and will now seek verification from Intel®.
    • Xped wishes to acknowledge the great support Intel® have provided with this project and the Company is excited with the opportunity of working with a world leading technology company who understands the changing IoT landscape and continues to push innovation.
    • The Company expects upon verification of the ADRC end-to-end solution running on Moon Island gateway platform, further engagement to begin with Intel® customers and OEMs looking to expand their gateway offering with ADRC integration.
    29 June 16 - Former Intel Capital MD appointed & Company Update
    Highlights:
    • Former Intel Capital Managing Director, Lisa Zhang, appointed to the Board (note second Intel linked director appointed to the Board within months)
    • Appointment of Chairman/CEO, CTO and relocation to US (hmm Intel headquartered in USA)

    4 July 16 - Licensing Agreement Signed with Telink Semiconductor
    Highlights:

    • Comprehensive LICENSING AGREEMENT signed with TELINK
    SEMICONDUCTOR
    • XPED to receive a licensing fee of 17.95% PER CHIPSET SOLD
    containing ADRC technology
    • TELINK SEMI-CONDUCTOR to commence porting ADRC to its current
    IoT CHIPSET OFFERING
    • SIGNIFICANT interest in ADRC from existing TIER 1 TELINK CUSTOMERS

    4 July 16 - Xped completes acquisition of JCT

    Highlights:
    • Xped Limited (ASX: XPE) (“Xped” or “the Company”) wishes to advise that in accordance with the Heads of Agreement (announced to the ASX on 19th April 2016, further details of which were announced on 7th June 2016) between Xped and the shareholder of JCT Healthcare Pty Ltd and Jackson Care Technologies Pty Ltd (“JCT”), the Company has now executed and completed the Sale and Purchase Agreement (“SPA”) of JCT. The SPA was on terms consistent with the Heads of Agreement (as varied) as previously announced.
