So....thought I would start another thread to revisit some patent searching as the last time I posted this info was a few weeks back and was brief, buried in another thread and whilst LT holders may / may not have seen this, some of the newer holders or those currently researching NXR may not have. I still believe it may be pertinent but does not obviously mean deals at this stage. Just food for thought.
@redapple could maybe add Intel as a possible suspect being spoken to as well
The WBT patent -

At the bottom of the page you will see other entities / patents that, in lodging their own, reference this WBT patent.

Why? First thing caught my eye was the heading - "Eye reflected content for verification of
user liveliness"
We all know who Intel are and that they are probably one of the worlds bigger producers of chip sets, modules, processors, hardware etc etc for PC's, phs and other electronics and who some of their clients are - microsoft, lenovo, asus, various other computer OEMs.
We also know (or maybe didn't) that Intel joined the FIDO (biometric) alliance earlier this year with Microsoft etc.
Their recent next gen Skylake chip released this year is designed with biometrics firmly in mind as well.
The key relationship being liveness - prime additional target for most biometrics these days - supposedly inbuilt already in WBT tech as we know
So, digging a bit into the patent and below is just some cut / paste relevant parts fyi and you may see some glaring similarities to the invention / discovery that Stephen and Ed came up with years ago and have got to this point - that, and the fact that Intel directly referenced WBT patent.
"Generally, this disclosure provides devices, systems and methods for improved
verification of user liveliness based on detection and identification of a corneal image reflection from the user. The system may include a security image generation module to provide a security image for presentation to the user on a client system display element;
a corneal reflection analysis module to estimate features of a corneal reflected image, the corneal reflected image extracted from an image of the user obtained by a camera of the client system; and the corneal reflection

Intels basic summary of how it could work (against the diagrams):
The

liveliness detection system (based on corneal image reflection) 104 may work in conjunction with a display element and camera of the client device 106, as will be explained in greater detail below,
to verify that a security image sent to the client 106 is reflected in the cornea of the user 108 as an indicator that the user is a live person.

platform 106 may include, but are not limited to, a mobile communication device such as a cellular handset or a
smartphone based on the Android® OS, iOS®, Windows® OS, Blackberry® OS, Palm® OS, Symbian® OS, etc., a mobile computing device such
as a tablet computer like an iPad®, Surface®, Galaxy Tab®, Kindle Fire®, etc., an Ultrabook® including a low-power chipset manufactured by Intel Corporation, a netbook, a notebook, a laptop or a palmtop.
So......doesn't mean deals (yet) and doesn't mean WBT tech out there (yet) either. But, I do look at this direct reference by Intel to WBT patent and the specifics of the Intel patent around Corneal Specular Reflections as a biometric "liveness" test as a positive endorsement in some ways. A tech giant firstly acknowledged the WBT component and secondly, took the time & $ to protect it's own possible future involvement (should it ever eventuate) by lodging it's own patent covering the WBT method and how Intel could apply it to the wider mkt.
