Really surprised its taking this long for such money hungry organisations. Coles and Woolworths each have revenue of $40B annually (~$2B profit). They lose 1.5% of profits due to mis-scanned products. That is nearly $30m each - every year. Having said that the most progressed trials are at large French and European supermarkets.
