I know WBT is currently in talks with some interested Chinese parties. WBT has been working with SiEn to jointly investigate ways in which Weebit’s technology can be used in SiEn’s products. Knowing the Chinese' propensity for stealing IP, there is a niggling thought in my mind that our joint investigation could result in our IP being stolen whilst they lead us up the garden path with stalling tactics. By the time WBT board realises this, it could be far too late.
Having patents is one thing. How do we ensure the wily Chinese obey laws which are made by a non Chinese legislative body and hence may not be enforceable in their mainland? Case in point: what's happening with Hong Kong and influencing the Uni of Queensland in expelling Drew Pavlou by their strongarm tactics.
