From what I have read of the construction of the Dow index it is more in the realms of fantasy.The construction is left that way because it suits the brokers and vested interests.Anyone following it to the last detail is doomed.Other more honest indicies should be followed.Also ignoring inflation in the last few decades would be suicidal.Another Dow team will be trotted out onto the field when the time is ripe!
